Miss Whitney Port:

Her blog is adorable, she's vivacious, gorgeous, confident, stylish, has a splendidly good looking,
well dressed boyfriend-need I say more? And she has her own show. Ugh jealousy is an evil thing.

New Album Releases:

Holy Ghost! released their debut album, Holy Ghost!, April 11th is still semi-ish-new to me, but I can't help but keep my ear out for them. Can't wait to see them live.

Augustana's new self titled album, Augustana, was released April 26th and this is the only song I've heard thus far. I'm going to see them May 20th so I better do my research. I've seen them live via tv programs, youtube and such but never live live. I can't imagine them being anything less than breathtaking.

I have had these songs on repeat for the past week. Adele's album, 21, released February 22nd in the US is definitely prospering. I haven't gotten to it until a weekish ago, but I have heard nonstop talking about this album. People of all music backgrounds are saying what an incredible job she did with this album. I can't wait to get to the rest of it!
Others released/previously discussed/to come:
Fleet Foxes-Helplessness Blues 5/3

Makeup:
1) Pur Minerals Colour Correcting Primer-My face pulls red tones, this vanishes them and acts like a foundation without the lovely orange residue.
2) Milani INFINITE Liquid Eyeliner-When I say this stuff does not budge, it's truly and understatement. And at only $5.99, you can afford to go through a tube a week(mine usually lasts 2 months or more).
3) MAC False Lashes Mascara-I'm in love with my lashes. Not flakey, makes your lashes look ridiculously full and wonderful.
4) MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour- Lasts so long. Like most longwear lipsticks, it does flake a wee bit but I usually try to prevent that by putting regular matte lipsticks on top before it dries too much. The gloss smells like vanilla too!

Coachella Fashion & Summer:

Alrighty loves, I'm going to end this ginormous post before I get ahead of myself. Hope you all are having a wonderful week!
Friday is just around the corner :)

Happy Easter!

We get so caught up in our lives we forget what He sacrificed for us. He blessed us with life, love and free will. He wants us to choose Him, not just on Easter, not just when it's convenient or when you need something...all the time. Through everything you do, choose Him. And spread His love to all around you.

Haven't posted in while(complete understatement) so here it goes:
21st birthdays, school, dancing, tofu, too many drink names to list, 6am nights, work, work, hair color, work, apartment hunting, dresses, my life as liz.

ahhhh much better.

As of Tuesday I'm officially 21 and so is my best friend Kristen-Atlanta beware. I feel like I've learned so much this past month. A few things I've definitely learned in regards to relationships and guys(boys) are: you can't trust anyone, duh, you can't rely on other people for your source of happiness and beauty, and life's too short to sit around and wait. A keeper will come along, at least that's what I'm praying for and keep telling myself. OH! I got a new camera so I finally can post my exciting life via pictures(ha). Alright, as usual I promise to post more. Minus weekends. Love!

Product Review: L'oreal Lash Serum

For a while now I have been obsessing over getting long, luscious eyelashes for the summer in hopes I won't feel the need to wear as much makeup. Well I searched my more costly options such Latisse, IdolLash, and a few others but I was skeptical.

I went into Walgreen's a few weeks ago and saw this and another eyelash boosting product for $10-$15. I knew that I was a price I was willing to sacrifice to see if such a product held it's claim, and with that thought I decided upon the L'oreal product.

I am proud to introduce my newly enhanced eyelashes(which will be pictured later on at some point I'm sure)! I am so happy with this product. I've been reading some of the online reviews, as I do with pretty much everything I buy, and most people have had similar success it seems. I use the serum as a primer in the morning and before I go to bed at night. It doesn't irritate my eyes at all, though I read a few where such things have happened, and it's very easy to apply. I'm a happy consumer!

Change of topic: I reread one of my posts a few posts back. It was the "happy list" as I call it. It made reevaluate some things in my life. I won't go into detail, because I'm sure you all are just bursting at the seems to know what goin on in my little old mind, but I'm taking charge and I couldn't be more thrilled. I've been so lazy lately, letting other take control of my emotions, searching for happiness in the wrong places, and letting setbacks become more apparent than successes. I feel like a new lady!

I really, really hope everyone is doing well. I'm not even sure who reads this anymore besides Lauren, but I'm still posting! And I plan on putting more pictures up soon. Soon as in when I buy a camera for my birthday present in April. Enjoy the weather! I can only hope it's this nice all over the country.

style star for the week: Lyyke Li

This beautiful artist is such an inspiration to me. With her unique voice and keen sense of style she never fails to impress. Her new album Wounded Rhymes is expected to be released March 1st, 2011. She has a very different sound, but once you listen, you're hooked. She's very passionate and driven according to many of the interviews I've read/seen. No tour dates in Atlanta anytime soon unfortunately, guess I'll just have to make a quick visit to NY!

On another note, I'm sick in bed on this gorgeous 62 degree weather day...WHYYYY?! Oh well, this entire week is supposed to be extremely lovely and this lady couldn't be more thrilled. Hope everyone's having a wonderful Sunday, get out and enjoy the sun for me!

the immortals-kings of leon

The open road, the path of greatness
It's at your fingers
Go be the one that keeps on fighting
Go be the stranger
Just put your foot in front' the other
Crow like the rooster
We are allowed to get us something
Free as a danger

I say

Spill on the streets of stars
Ride away
Find out what you are
Face to face

The windows are
The perfect picture
They're always changin
Go on get lost
Jump in the waters
when they are raging
i say

Spill on the streets of stars
ride away
Find out what you are
Face to face
Once you've had enough
Carry on
Don't forget to love
before you're gone

My exact thoughts this evening:

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is be someone who can be loved.
The rest is up to them.
I've learned that no matter how much I care,
some people just don't care back.
And it's not the end of the world.
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust,
and only seconds to destroy it.
I've learned that it's not what you have in your life,
but who you have in your life that counts.
I've learned that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes.
After that, you'd better know something.

I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself
to the best others can do,
but to the best you can do.
I've learned that it's not what happens to people,
It's what they do about it.
I've learned that no matter how thin you slice it,
there are always two sides.
I've learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.
I've learned that you can keep going
long after you think you can't.

I've learned that heroes are the people who do what has to be done
When it needs to be done
regardless of the consequences.
I've learned that there are people who love you dearly,
but just don't know how to show it.
I've learned that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't five me the right to be cruel.
I've learned that true friendship continues to grow even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.
I've learned that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to
doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

I've learned that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.
I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I've learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken,
the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are,
but we are responsible for who we become.
I've learned that just because two people argue, it doesn't mean that they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.

I've learned that sometimes you have to put the individual
ahead of their actions.
I've learned that two people can look at the exact same thing
and see something totally different.
I've learned that no matter the consequences,
those who are honest with themselves get farther in life.
I've learned that your life can be changed in a matter of hours
by people who don't even know you.
I've learned that even when you think you have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you,
you will find the strength to help.

I've learned that writing,
as well as talking,
can ease emotional pains.
I've learned that the people you care most about in life
are taken from you too soon.
I've learned that it's hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice
and not hurting people's feelings and standing up for what you believe.
I've learned to love
and be loved.
I've learned...

come on out and dance

Had a mighty fine talk with my aunt today proceeding my semi-meltdown. It's hard being here and taking care of everyone but yourself for the most part. I'll spare you the gory details, but things are gonna change my friend! Oh and, do yourself a favor and listen to the new kings of leon album.

Also,

Decisions, decisions

So many opportunities are falling into place and I don't know which lead to grab a hold of! We'll just see where life takes me; either way I'm excited(and REALLY scared).

p.s.-Emma Stone is blonde and I completely agree with the change.

I'm feeling adventurous

I love change, I think a little too much quite honestly. So while I'm here in Jersey, I might as well get my hair done, right? I'm thinking...

somewhere between these two colors:

with this kind of fading on the ends, not the blonde though, some lighter hue of reddish brown:

I keep seeing the "oh ya know, I haven't had time to go to the salon so I'm letting my hair go natural" look...they're not going natural pssshhh. At least I'm not...

Suggestions?

the little black book of new york

Recent purchases include:

-Buy one, get one free American Apparel Sashes in Black and Creme
-Marc by Marc Jacobs Katie Ring
-Chain bracelet
-Lizard/Snake/Some amphibian rhinestone ring
-Franco Sarto Panax Boots
-Levi's Leather Jacket(BAHHHH LOVE this)
-Lash Injection Mascara by Too Faced
-Dry Shampoo Spray(for my lazy shower-free days, which are quite often lately)

For christmas my hip, trendy, designer loving aunt took me shopping today. We had too much fun weaving in and out of BCBG, Steve Madden, American Apparel, White House Black Market, Urban Outifitters, Macy's and several others. We were out for about four hours in the slushy, thick snow. We're supposed to get 3 ft up here in Jersey next week! Lots of books and movies will be read and viewed. The library has become a frequent stop of mine. Although, my grandmom has been keeping me quite busy.

This trip has not only drawn me closer to my family up here, it's made me realize how truly independent I am, and how much more independence I am capable of. Family is so inspiring. They're there through thick and thin and all in between. I know i keep saying this, but I am so incredibly grateful. ...The only downside of my visit is it's making my love for snow diminish at a somewhat rapid pace. Oh well, my new leather jacket will keep me nice and warm! Next purchases: snow boots and a new hair-do!

Hope everyone is having lovely weekend! Ichatting with Lauren in a few minutes, man i miss that lady!

ps- The doctor's office I work at back home sent me this today: "The Little Black Book of New York" and written inside was "Molly, Follow your dreams". Complete with 9 fold out maps and an explanation of every nook and cranny of New York imaginable, my heart couldn't have been warmed more. I feel so loved, and so willing to love in return! Please ignore the backwardness of the picture, macs tend to do such things.

Edith

My poppy and grandmom on their wedding day. I couldn't tell her enough how much I wanted to steal her dress!

My poppy, grandmom, my mom(the brunette little one with the missing front teeth) and one of her sisters.

My grandmom is an amazing woman. Without her I truly wouldn't be here(further explanation is required, but we won't go there). As I'm sitting here writing this, she's laying in her hospital bed next to me "waiting to die" as she says. Lung cancer has taken a hard toll on her and unfortunately it is winning. The days are passing quickly; she's becoming physically weaker and weaker, but mentally she's still as sharp as a tack. Her reoccurring question is, "why am I still here, why is this taking so long?" Needless to say, she is more than ready to have "St. Jude and St. Anthony lift her up and take her to heaven"(her quotes are just too wonderful to not post). I keep telling her to trust God and that she is still here for a reason and today I think she figured that out. She's had so many visitors the past week I have been here, it's overwhelming! You can't pass by her house without feeling an instant sensation of warm, true, passionate love. She truly has one of the biggest hearts I have ever had the pleasure to witness in my life.

Today she had, a nurse, a caretaker, a social worker, her neighbor and best friend, my aunt, and a family friend all come to see her and spend time talking to her. The way she talks to her loved ones baffles me; here she is on her death bed(literally) and all she wants to know is how everyone else is doing. I don't know about you but when I'm sick that's all I can talk about, me and how absolutely awful i feel, and here she is, listening, caring and barely able to breath all at once.

Tonight she helped me more than anyone has in my entire life. She was honest and rough, but nurturing and loving. I couldn't have asked for more. I am so incredibly blessed. Life is too short to hope things work out; you have to make things happen for yourself. So, I will be moving out. One way or another, by the latest may, I will be on my own...and I CAN NOT wait.

It's funny how all of the memories flood your mind at moment's like these. But as her social worker said, "this whole situation couldn't have been scripted out any better". She has family with her at all times, and we have all been given the time to get mentally prepared in our own ways.

Grandmom, you are my guardian angel and I am yours. Your wishes will be carried out and you are forever in my heart.

I love you,

Your Turtledove

This line has inspired my spring wardrobe. I love how the fringe/biker/badass trend hops from season to season. Pale pink and cremes, blacks and darks never fail to prevail as favorites in my book.
